Viewfinder Photography Gallery, Greenwich, London. Info: about us, visit, exhibit, hire, contact, join the mailing list

Since the first exhibition in November 2005, the Viewfinder has devised and programmed photography based exhibitions to provoke and expand image making and discussion.

The Viewfinder Photography Gallery aims to be a pragmatic, changing field of imagery and to provide a platform for project based work from new and emerging practitioners. There is an emphasis here on coherent, cohesive bodies of work with strong concept foundations.

The Viewfinder has strong local community awareness as well as a city wide, nationwide and global approach to issues and discussions.

The gallery is a charitable company (its income is currently too low to register with the Charity Commission), and is free to visit.

Support

"The Viewfinder Gallery in Greenwich has made a valuable contribution to photographic and visual arts communities over recent years, particularly around supporting emerging artists. Exhibitions cover a wide range of practices and they have enthusiastically placed themselves within an ongoing dialogue about the nature of photography in London, and how it might speak to a wide constituency of practitioners, gallery audiences, educators and theorists."

Paul Halliday,
Course Leader of MA Photography and Urban Cultures, Goldsmiths, University of London
